Hey there guys here is the problem I'm thinking timing let me know.

Only when cold in the morning it does this. Go out and I start it up to let it warm up, like all of are's do it lopes for a few seconds and the idle smooth but low I'll go inside to let it run and a minute or so later it will die, go out to start it and cranks and cranks no fuel like unless you push on the pedal alittle then it will fire up but smoke like crazy and spit and sputter then it cleans up but you have to leave foot on it till it smooths out, and it is fine the rest of the day unless motor gets cold again, also if you start it up when cold and give it alittle pedal for a few second then let it warm up it won't die also if you rev it to just under 1500 it will miss and spudder on you when cold.

also if it is timing I need someone to reset it for my Dad close to where I live will pay some for it to be done thanks guys.

Sounds like you're idle might be set too low to me. I gather it's not the truck in you're sig? Automatic trucks should idle at 750-800 RPM in drive and the AC on. Manual trucks at 780 with the AC on. These are with the truck warm.

yeah the idle is wear it is supposed to be when warm only low when cold at first start up as for prime I have thought that to but doesn't do the same when it happens somtimes it fires right back up but rough and others I have to give allittle pedal to get it to start.

Now to get timing set any one near White Pigeon Michigan that can set it for me or at least check it.

If you still have the original rubber furl lines that jumper the hard lines from the frame to the hard lines on the engine behind the fuel filter - I'll put a beer on it that this is the cause.

The hose gets brittle and allows air to bleed intot he fuel system. In this case - just enough to allow a stumble after a minute or so of running. If you were driving the truck, you would not notice it but just idling, the truck stalls.

JMHO.

Good luck.
