Ok - I now have a quit a few Videos's that I've captured on my PC - through my TV Tuner Card with a program called Intervideo Win DVR 3. It obviously captures to my Hard Drive. It saves them as an MPEG File - HOWEVER I can't seem to edit them. I have a program called ULEAD Video Studio 6 ( Basic) and I can't seem to donload the files... ... Anybody experienced with this - or a recommendation please... ... IT's driving me CRAZY - and it's a short trip!!!!

It may be the MPEG codec used by the Intervideo product. Thus, ULEAD may not be able to decode it. One thing, though, MPEG is already a compresssed format. When it is decompressed and then recompressed (after editing) picture quality will drop noticibly, and drop more each time the video is reopened, edited, and then saved again. I use a Canopus box attached to my cable box and input to the firewire port on our PC. It will be captured as an AVI file, which can then be used as input to any video editing. Look at the Canopus site ( http://www.canopus.us/US/products/Index/product_index.asp ) and check out the ADVC100. If you want a really high quality (and ULEAD and Video Wave aren't one of them) editing tool, check out Vegas Video ( http://mediasoftware.sonypictures.com/ ). Hope this helps.
