I am needin some gauges cause thats the very first and most important... .

I am just wondering with what i will be doing to this truck, which is either a TST or a SMARTY when comes out, what gauges i need???? I know its a given that I need pyro and boost, but do i really need a fuel pressure gauge? And if so mechanical or electric?

So far i have done AFE oem drop in and straight through muffler... . I'm already looking at a South bend Clutch.

Do i need better fuel delivery(FASS)???? If all i'm doing is TST on the mild side or SMARTY on a low setting?

What brand of gauges are good... . I've had ISSPRO, Autometer NV series, Autometer Phantom.

I have been looking at Westach and Di-pricol optix... . Any opinions please...

I know the pyro gonna be a 0-1600, Boost 0-60, Fuel pressure i have never done so Whats my options on that one.....

Any of you out there have better ideas or know of something i have missed please let me know... THANKS

I just want a little more pulling power all around and of course those moments when my buddies are around.

If you do end up with a fuel pressure gauge, I would go with the electric. with a mechanical, you end up with pressurized fuel in the line to the gauge in your cab.

I personally don't think you need a fuel pressure gauge, but others on here will surely disagree with me. It won't hurt to know what it is, and if you start running some serious fuel with injectors and boxes on high settings, I might change my mind.

I wouldn't think so but a gauge would let you know. I had both lift and rail pressure gauges in my 03 but after a while began to feel it was overkill. They were nice though for evaluating different mods.

I doubt I would do it again, instead if I feel I am starving on the lift or rail side I will just tap in and monitor with a stand alone tool that can be removed vs a permanent mounted gauge.

I sure like to look of the new optix!

The new Smarty should be real slick but you gotta love the ability to dial it up or down on the fly. Sounds to me like you won't need a fuel pressure gauge with your initial goals.

I like the looks of the Di's Optix but the are considerably more money than the white faced Isspros. I had the Isspros on my 05 and liked them quite a bit. Im waiting to see if I can see some of the DiP Optix in person a night. Then I will make my decision if they are worth the extra money or not. If not, I'll go back to the Isspros. Look great and work well for their price.

So by the sounds of things with what i am doing for MODS that the Fuel pressure gauge would be more of a want than a Need... . SO if i'm reading and understanding what people have said i could get by with jus a boost and egt gauge... .

So if i go that route should i do the Di-pricol white faced or the Westach 2-in-1?

Thanks For your input everyone... . Keep it coming

They make an isolator for that that is mounted in the engine compartment... . It has a diaphram and the fuel is on one side, and anti-freeze on the other (into the cab). It cost more than the gauge, but it keeps fuel out of the cockpit.

Just Found out there coming out with a RAIL pressure gauge, now the question is being i am looking at gettin some gauges, whats more important? Fuel Pressure or RAIL pressure?

TIA
