All right I need some help. I have a 05 Dodge 2500 quad Cab, Auto 48re. I am looking to do just some mild MODS. So far what i have done is AFE stage 2, and Rokktech Sensor but that has been removed cause i dont think it did anything. I also Have done the following Pyro, Boost, Trans, Mag-Hytec Double Deep pan.

What I am looking to do is maybe some 50 or 90 hp injectors down the road(MAYBE), and probably like a additional 50 or 60hp tow setting off a programmer or something... Not sure what though.

My truck is basically gonna be used for towing so I am needing a heavy duty transmission, EGTS kept down, and a little more boost... . So with that in mind where do i need to start, not all can be done at once(its a $$$$$ thing) so this is where i need the HELP.

Where do i start? Upgrade transmission first, Turbo, intercooler( I have the plastic end caps). Where do i need to start? And as far as where to start what do you recommend as far as what needs to be done to transmission?

(valve body, torque converter, flex plate, input/output shaft, etc. ) Turbo, if at all and so forth?

Basically where is the smartest place to start and what should i do to it...

THANKS IN ADVANCE... . I AM NEW TO THIS... .

What happened to all the mods you had on last week? :-laf

I read your threads and I just have to laugh. You are either the most confused individual or have a lot of money, buy this stuff and then throw it out or you are B. S.

quote from new truck auto or 6spd I currently have a 05 Dodge quad long bed with the 48re... Thinking about trading in for 6spd... Or should I just beef this 48re up to hold... . I am just running a bigger turbo, intercooler, Afe stage 2, triple dog(crazy larry), just wondering if it would be worth it to trade to a 6spd or just pay the money and have this transmission built... . THANKS in advance

your quite a funny guy... ever heard of having a work truck and a personal truck..... lol... . my dad has one and he may have been on my computer and asking questions. he has 04. 5 and i have late 05

Sure, ok I can understand that, but as you or your dad put it they have only referenced the 05.

Enough said. :p

I asked for help... . Not 3rd degree... THANKS for the help... ... either way it doesn't matter if i say 04. 5 or 05 its the same truck no matter what way you look at it

I know transmission up grades are big $$$$. Injectors are a good upgrade. I might start with a fueling box like an ez or a juice with attitude. Once you start adding fuel you will outgrow your turbo eventually.

From there comes turbo's transmission upgrades or clutches weather its an auto or manual.

There isn't really a certain upgrade path you should follow. And thinking about upgrades you can easily get soooooo lost your won't know where to begin. Thats kinda where I am at just so much mods on the mind, don't know where to start  :D

For towing either one will be good. But its kinda dependent on where you live. If its mountainous, a manual would be great. For flat land with not so many hills or steep grades, an auto will do you just fine. But trading in just for the transmission seems a tad costly, I would save the money you would lose on trade in and put that towards beefing up the auto you currently own. Just my 02.

I agree with JRD. If you are going to bomb your truck at any time, the first thing you should do is think into the future and decide how much power your going to have. Then the first big mod you should do is the transmission. I did it backwards, but starting with everything else, and now I'm upgrading to a DTT. Once you get your transmission in, depending on what you had done, the sky's the limit on power. My choice is the transmission first, then bomb away. Just my opinion.
