OK my son's rear trailer marker lights all of a sudden stopped working..... other lights work... . suggestions as to how to check... ... not the bulb.....
Could have bad connection somewhere in the positive leading to the rear for the markers. Since the lights were both working and went out at the same time this is what I think it is and since from your decription the brake lights work, that should rule out grounds. What kind of trailer is it and what lights specifically aren't working? A test light or meter will help out troubleshooting. I have wired tons of trailers and there is not much to it. The marker wire on trailers I have is a brown wire.
but wife is recovering from major reconstructive shoulder surgery... . been a trying few days... . but will show my son this and we will get back to you guys... . thanks
would i be correct in assuming that it is a 3rd gen truck? it is most likely the TIPM or FCM. i am in the same boat as him, i have no running lights, but i do fortunately have turn lights, brake lights, and brakes (for now). next time i hook up it will likely be a different combination.
