Just finished installing the new lift pump. I must have done something because when I went to pump the pedal, it was stiff and would not move. I pressed hard and it now works fine, BUT, when it starts, the throttle is like 2800RPM and steady. Any ideas?

check the 'S' shaped throttle linkage rod... one of the locknuts on mine came loose, and allowed the rod to rotate and it would bind up when I hit the throttle... I thought the thing was running away on me!! I figured it out and tightened up the locknuts real good. That was almost 5k ago, and no problem since.

You should post this question on the 24 valve engine and transmission forum. We know squat about what you may have done.

Thanks for the reply. I posted in the 24V. I forgot which forum I was in when I posted. Turns out I pulled the throttle linkage out and it got caught on something, Thanks
