I have been having a gurggleing sound in the cab for a while now and it has progressed to getting worse when you rev the engine. The coolant system seems to be getting pressurized and puking in to overflow tank. I'm not getting any water in the oil or vise-versa, just loosing water out the overflow. My head is studded and o-ringed ancd torqued to 150#. I have replaced the themostat, radiator cap, and flushedn the cooling system and tried the headgasket leak fixer in a bottle (for lack of a better explanation), to no avail.

I have already had to replace 2 headgaskets when first doing the o-ring job and hate to do another. If it's the gasket again is there another headgasket that will work better than a stock 24valver? Is a 12v marine 10over gasket a better choice? This is frusterating to say the least.

Thanks Jared

Sounds like a head gasket to me. When you had your head off did you have a machine shop magnaflux the head for cracks? Did you have the head decked? maybe it's not flat?

Also, what kind of studs are you using that you can torque to 150lbs? I know ARP now sells Custom Age 625 studs that you can torque to 150lbs.

Best of luck

When I had the head off originally it was holding fine and hadn't blown a gasket yet then when I had it checked it was true and didn't need to be decked, but it hasn't been checked for cracks. The studs are ARP regular studs with moly lube.

Any ideas on the best headgasket?

Jared

I used a head gasket from Haisley that had the fire rings water jetted out on a brand new head (stock gasket minus the firerings). I had my head checked and it had 46 cracks, all on the exhaust side. I used a Haisley firering setup with ARP head studs torqued to 126 lbs. I think you're pushing it torquing those studs to 150 lbs. to be honest. Since install in August, I've done 5 retorques.
