Installed my new power vision mirrors today. Install went pretty quick and painless. Tried the mirrors out before I put in the in/out switch. They worked great. Went to Murrays to get new door panel fasteners and they worked flawlessly the whole trip. Got home ran the wires for the in/out function (not fun) and everything seemed fine.

Spliced the wires on the back of the Tilt switch to get power for in/out and tried it out. I now blow fuse #12 (10amp) in aprox 2 seconds after starting to adjust with tilt switch. Interior lights go dim and then it blows. Though maybe I knicked the line for the in/out when I ran it so i disconnected it and poped in another fuse. Same outcome. Got down to my last fuse and now I'm ******!. I have a long trip tomorrow and would rather listen to radio ( fuse must be a main fuse, interior and underhood lights, radio and mirrors).

Has anyone had this problem? do I simply need a higher fuse due to more draw? (it blew 15amp too). This is all with the truck off. Didnt want to waste last fuse just to watch it pop with the truck on! These mirrors are too expensive to be doing this kinda crap!

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

PS had stock manual tow mirrors but stock wiring was there as it is SLT model.

When you bought the mirrors you should have gotten a 1-800 number to call if you need to contact the factory at Pendelton Ore. Call that number and ask to talk to Conrad (Con) and he will talk you thru the fix. Their service great and a good company to do bussiness with. I have their mirrors and am very happy with them. :D

JCyrbok.

I don't know if you installed the later model heated "plug in" Power Vision or the older model where you had to cut, splice and run wires across the cab, but I will say that you do NOT need a heavier fuse. Something is shorting to ground (must be very low amp short if it doesn't pop the fuse immediately) or the mirror motor is sticking or dragging. I'd remove one door panel/switch at a time and try to see which side may be causing the problem. Wish I could be of more assistance and good luck. Let us know what you find. Larry

Roger I have stock wiring but because I have the trailer tow package they came with the manuel flip up mirrors. All I had to run across cab was a 2 wire harness for the in/out switch. I'm using a Mopar power mirror switch for the control just like stock. My confusion comes from the fact that it worked fine and then when i spliced in the power for the in/out function from the back of the tilt switch, per power vision instructions, thats when i started poping the fuse. when I removed the ground and power for the in/out and just tried the mirror adjust again it still popped even thought it was EXACTLY the same as before when it did not pop. I'm thinking gremlins! LOL.

Guess I'll buy a 100 pack of fuses and try to trace the problem. What a pain in the rear.
