I have a small radio that I listen to while I'm working outisde. It's run into a set of ear muff hearing protecters that I made. The AM doesn't come in too strong, and I like listening to talk shows. I'm always hearing them say that their shows can be downloaded to an MP3 player.

I don't want an Ipod, well because I don't want to be part of a trend. I have seen several in the stores, but don't know that much about them. Any help on brands, storage size and such would be greatly appreciated.

I will probably never use it for pictures or video. I just want one that would hold a couple of 3 hour shows.

Thanks for your help!

Well, you said you don't want an Ipod... so that was my recomendation. When you start comparing price to features, nobody does it better... yet. Check Amazon.com for prices... That new shuffle looks like it might meet your requirements nicely.

Phil, Wait until After Christmas, go to Circuit city, Ask about returns. I did not want to be part of the Ipod trend either, but they are one of the best sounding, and I got it for 1/2 price just because someone else opened the box before me!

Thanks, guys. Maybe I will have to look at the Ipod. But what I am wondering about is storage. They list storage in GBs, but also say it will hold xxxx songs. How much time are they figuring for a song length?

Most songs are based on 4 minutes. I have an I-Pod Nano with a JBL docking station on my desk. It's about 6" in dia. and 2" high, and has awesome sound.

Check out the new Microsoft Zune. I am seriously thinking of changing, however there are not too many accesories for them yet.
