Help!!

While trying to replace my defective Crank position sensor I broke off everything sticking out of the block trying to remove it. I then drilled and tapped it with a screw and still could not leverage it out of the hole. I am now driving a wounded dodge I need Idea's can I drop the oil pan without dropping the trans and removing the flywheel like the shop manual says? Does anyone have any ideas how to get this out without dropping the pan?

Please Help Desparate

I know exactly what your going through, and it aint no picnic. What I finally ended up doing is firing up the torch, burn out what you can, keep drilling and insearting bigger screws as you strip out smaller ones. Theres a magnet in that sensor, you'll need to try and get into that. Eventually enough will get burned out and pulled out it'll get loose in that hole, thats when you can flip it out with a screwdriver. Then change your oil, and maybe again if you feel alot went down there. On my 2k there was no way to drop the pan without major dismantle. Cummins told me 8 hours, almost 1000 $'s. Thats when I fired the torch and started the name calling.

Thanks for the tip. This morning she needed some coaxing to fire up and at lunch today I couldn't get her to fire up at all. It looks like I might need a tow at this point.

Back on the road again. Took it to the shop. Charged me for 3hrs labor and an oil change. I'm counting myself fortunate at this point.
