I have a very strange issue that seems to have started after having my HVAC doors replaced (which required dash removal). The issue is that when I turn on my EB (factory Jacobs EB), my speakers pop (one or two loud pops, and turning my aftermarket head unit off and on again, they do not pop for a while but will eventually do it again). NEVER happens with EB off. I had the shop that installed the speakers and aftermarket amp check all the connections and they said they are good. I have been working my way around checking all the grounds but figured I'd ask here if anyone had any tips/suggestions. I just replaced my batteries with new Costco Interstates and cleaned all the terminals and connections to various components that were connected to the battery (both pos and neg).

My next step is to check all the grounds (i have checked a few - both body and engine and they seem perfectly fine). Any ideas? It is really strange that this only happens with the EB on...

Thanks in advance,
George

sounds like someone tapped into a shared ground. the grounds wires should be as short as possible. and a good clean solid ground. 90% of electrical problems end up being a grounding issue.
the amount could be wired to the wrong power on remote wire. some radios have 2, a power antenna, and a power amp. I've seen them antenna wire used and a turn on pop happens.
also the EB could be pulling power from a shared wire and to many amps for the wire size.

Ok, I will start tracing wires! Thanks for the help!

I am not sure this is related but my truck has started throwing a P2509 code so I replaced the batteries as I said above. This morning it threw the code again as well as a P0116! I gotta have a electrical issue somewhere! Truck still runs fine. Ugh. Anything major I should be looking for?
