Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) help: Starter keeps running

I have been having a problem with the fuse for the starter selonoid blowing, it has been going on for several days now, the mechanic, said they could see no reason for the short,, now today I went out to start the truck, and once it fired up, the starter would not disengage, it kept cranking even after I turned the truck off, I had to disconnect the grounds on the batteries to get it to stop cranking



What's the problem, and if it needs a starter, because I think the selonoid is part of the starter is'nt it, where is the best and cheapest place for a starter?
