Hi guys

Been a member quite some time but this is a first.

Engine help needed stuck in knoxville tennessee with no fuel press which is

regulating my throttle.

Cannot climb, or use passing gear. Up to 40mph and you feel the petal back out of it. The ecm is turning something off.

I got 5 codes from the odometer. I still have a engine light on.

Any one available to discuss this.

Southbound on vacation with a little one with no diesel juice allowed to go in to the cummins!!!!!!

Douglas:

WE need to know what you are driving and how it is equipped in order to help:

Year/mods/etc...

From the little info you are giving sounds like possible accelerator position sensor or clogged fuel filter if no fuel pressure... are you checking pressure pre or post filter?

Let us know,

Wiredawg

Thank you sir for reminding me.

sorry did not finish

275 injectors with mega cannon AFe filter

FASS system

New fan clutch, on my 4th VP44. The fourth one was put on and then the fass was put on. Warranty has expired.

Turn the key on and the fuel pump can be heard cycling.

The codes are as follows

P PCU

P 1693

P done

P PECU

P 0238

P 0239

P 1896

P 0236

P done

I have burgin dodge down the street, and I need to find out my best avenue.

Waiting for my brothers in cummins arms.

I can do up to 40mph, can not climb or use passing gears.

Charly's towing out of Jelico towed me 60mph to the days inn at exit 108 and here I wait with my wife and 15month old with my ecm telling me to sit down. !!!

As for fuel press, I am assuming the ecm is regulating the engine diagnostics.

I have no post gages,,... no to your question.

I had this similar feeling everytime briefly upon each of my VP44 incidents with air vapour lock or lack of fuel going thru the pump. However this would go away and come back, that is how I knew my pumps were on there way out. So Douglas got the FASS stuff.

Now the light is on, very little fuel feeding the cummins. We can move up to 40 but nowhere what I was doing in Kentucky.

po238 and po239 are Map sensor codes. I wonder if you can unplug it and see if it will continue. I heard if you unplug it it will run rich. If it runs better you could drive to your next stop and buy a map.

Kind of a guess there

Thank you sir.

I will try everything possible. I am sitting down in the lobby racking my head for all the original stuff and the addons. Map sensor so far that is a start.

I called my 2004. 5 dually colleague in Hamilton Ontario and he mentioned the FASS, make sure I can hear it cylcling. We need fuel press. So far that is good also.

I hope its nothing stupid, like a poor ground or water logged sensor or pin slot. We had plenty of water from cincinnati on down to jelico.

Water is good and bad!!!!!

This just made me think of something that happened to me. I had corrosion at the EZ connection where it plugs into the factory harness for the map sensor. It sounds like this could be the same thing. I did have major power issues and flagged a map code.

Mike

Thanks Mike. First thing I did was check batteries, the pump , the electrical distribution and then I took the edge off and I always carry my factory plug and made the truck go back to stock parameters in the friggin rain. It poured.

Still the same thing, engine light and no power, no fuel, ,, no petal.

Fuel filter? Water separator?

If those are good I would try cleaning the MAP sensor.

When you say "light is on" what light are you talking about? Low fuel pressure light or check engine light?

Godspeed,
Trent

Short hearing the FASS run, you could open the fuel cap and listen for fuel being returned to the filler hose with the FASS running... I can hear mine splshing around whent he FASS is running. That would at least mean the FASS is pumping.

Have you drained the FASS filter lately?? Check for water?

Unfortunately, the symptoms sound like a failing VP44 to me... or possibly a plugged filter???

If you have any tools you could pop the line from the FASS to the VP44 and put it in a mile hug and then go bump your ignition and make sur eyouare getting fuel up to the VP at least.

Good morning to all.

Updat on my situation, I have come to learn that these codes all come back to turbo boost sensor on the intake manifold.

It shuts off fuel and electronics at the petal. We rev up and move but the horsepower is not being generated.

any ideas if we have any knoxville tdr boys out here or custom diesel shops in my area before I hit the dealer as a last resort.
