Okay - just bought a '96 in Denver - Drove it to Houston (Clear Lake) with 0 problems :)(well - it looks like the compressor went out on the A/C but I question that:rolleyes:).

Now this is a work truck and I am being told it would run strong - die... start right up. Was doing this for a day or so and now nothing...

No fuel "at injector"... the guy driving it is telling me a diesel mechanic cracked the fuel line at the "top of the motor"?

If it were the injector wouldn't it have lost power and ran bad before going out? He said it ran fine but would just die going down the road - starved for fuel I know.

Told my driver there was no suction at the tank with the cap off... ???

Please help and if you know of a good source in the Houston area I would appreciate it (oh and a good Colorado attorney would be great :-{}#@$%!)

Theres a list , fuel pressure test , lift pump , fuel filter , overflow valve , leaking fuel lines - lift pump forward look for fuel leaks with a flash lite & mirror , lift pump back - suction / so no fuel - put 3 lbs air pressure in fuel tank to check for leaks , fuel shut off solenoid -may be out of adjustment -maybe bad - or relay that controls it - tie the linkage in the up position [ this might be the 1st thing to look at .

Email me at -- email address removed -- for my write up on the fuel supply system, how it works and how to fix it.

Towed away...

With my time restraints I am going to have to have it looked at - many of you know about HotRodDiesels, Your Houston/Galveston Diesel Performance Headquarters out of Hitchcock, TX. It is being towed there :{ and I will let you know the prognosis ASAP.

Thanks for your replies. This site has saved me thou$ands I know - guess its time to give some back.

I have known about them for a while but never needed them... but when you have no time and a lot of knowhow... well you really get nowhere fast.

I spoke with Micheal there and these guys really seem to be an honest and upright business... THANKS MICHEAL! Glad to do business with you. ;)

I will let you guys know... and for future TDR members who may run into the same thing.

So far - replaced the Fuel Shut-Off Silly-Noid (Solenoid)... that got the truck up and running again.

Now there may be some other issues because of mileage while towing 10-15k lbs.

We are going to have a Gov. Spring Kit install - reset the timing - Set the valves - and put the KDP in check and of course new front seals. All for about $1000.

I would like to put out an extremly big Thank you to Micheal at Hot Rod Diesel... what a great guy to work with. If you are in the Houston area - you should give him a "working" visit. He really knows how to work with people and do right by them.

Anyway - so far - Fuel Shut-Off Solenoid... fixed!
