According to the powertrain diagnostics manual, P2269 is Water In Fuel.



The manual goes on to describe the diagnostic/repair procedure:



Set Condition: low voltage detected at t he WIF signal circuit at the ECM.



Possible Causes:

-Water in fuel sensor signal circuit short to ground.

-ECM



Actions:

1. Drain the water in fuel separator. With the DRBIII, erase DTCs. Cycle the ignition switch from on to off to on. With the DRBIII, read DTCs. Did the DTC P2269 return?

-Yes: Refer to symptom P0178 - Water in fuel sensor voltage too low.

-No: go to number 2



2. Disconnect the Water in Fuel sensor harness connector. Monitor the DRBIII while jumping the signal circuit of the water in fuel sensor and battery(+). Did the water in fuel light go out?

-Yes: test complete

-No: replace ECM

I cannot find this code in the manual you refer to, this code is on

the warranty repair order that the dealer printed up after he

reprogramed the ECM on my 03 CTD,without telling me or asking

FIRST, I was their to have the rear differential checked,2 Qts low

any way the sheet reads 4669020- LABEL **FAILED**IF you

look for the# and cannot locate it thanks for trying! GWD

Just a reminder fellas everytime you fill up you are supposed to open the cock valve on the fuel filter canister and let it drain for a second. this lets the dirt and grime out! it is best to open it in the morning at your house before cranking the motor b/c all the trash is settled at he bottom. catch it with a cup and look at how much dirt is in there you might be suprised.
