To all members in Fla... Help... I need a good shop that knows their ctd's... I am in Fort Meyers Fla, going down to the Keys for a month and back here at the beginning of Feb. . I haven't been able to find a recco for a good shop, but do have a dealer appt in the am... friday, Dec 22... of course, right before xmas.

Ok, here is the problem... from about 35 mph to 55-60, I get this surge. . really more like a jerking... . it doesn't sound or feel like a miss, but I am open to suggestion... it also seems better with OD Off. I was thinking t/c locking and unlocking, but took to a trans guy today and we took a ride with his sensors hooked up... he says trans is doing what it is supposed to as far as he can tell and the tc stays locked when it is suppised to... I would say that this is not a new prob, but it is definately getting worse... btw the trans is a reman with about 4k miles and hasn't missed a beat... the only odd thing I have done is to put my trans temp sensor in the o/d test port on the upper rear of the drivers side of the trans... I planned to relocate it to the new mag hytec pan, but not done yet... could this be a cause? (It was in the same place in the old trans)... at this point I am leaning toward an engine problem... . but would appreciate all help.

Since I am on laptop and hit or miss on locations and connections; hopefully we will continue to pickup mail thru this wi-fi connection, but it is sketchy... PS this is 02 3500 4x4... if someone has a shop to suggest... please call me or e-mail me... my cell is 707 291-5848... please feel free to leave a message... . btw. . I would certainly be open to going north a reasonable distrance.

Had a similar thing happen to me coming home from Califonia. On mine it was the fuel filter was clogged with some white crud.

Check your codes. Could be the VP (injector pump) going south. The good news is mine did the same thing for months before I had it changed.

Mike

Still have the problem

Ok,

thanks to the two guys who called... I will probly be calling Rick in Miami, but will be leaving for the keys on wed the 27th or bust. break.

Had an appt w/ a local dealer this am... they claimed bad battery voltages were tripping the pcm and locking/unlocking the convertor... so I got two new . . batteries (which were due for replacement)... and it seems to have solved nothing... . I got a lecture about how my airdog fuel system was undependable (altho they had never seen one) said I should replace with an updated in the tank dodge fix (1200 to 1600 to retrofit the airdog)

they said the airdog probly was not delivering enough fuel and would damage the vp44... .

Well, to make a long story short, I will be heading for the keys for a month... don't know if I will make it, but onward into the fog... . I could still use some more advice about a good shop in Fla Thanks... . Paul

Good to hear you're back on the road. Also good to hear that the dealer slammed the Airdog (almost an endorsement coming from them). They're wrong on the in-tank pump and wrong on the Airdog.

Mike, Thanks for your call and for getting back to me... Rick, called from Miami and left a message (Thanks for all your efforts... )I will touch base with him Tuesday, or for sure while we are in the keys... . and get the truck up to Miami... I sent you a longer reply offline... Thanks again, Paul

Oh Yes, One last thing... . no codes whatsoever..... sometimes I think I know what is happening in life, and with my truck, sometimes I am plumb baffled... . Paul

And one last rant about dealers... they can't seem to id a problem if there isn't a lite on the dash... . and this young tech told me I should only use PSBanks Products... he has them on his 05... . Believe it or not, with all their talk about my Airdog voiding my warranty... they are a banks dealer... . Paul 22 years in law enforcement... seen the worst in govt... ... . it doesn't begin to touch the duplicity of the private sector

Thanks for the TDR and its members
