I changed my oil, oil filter, and fuel filter like I've done hundreds of time and now my truck won't start. It cranks over but acts like it's not getting any fuel. I removed the new fuel filter thinking that may have been the culprit but still won't start. Any ideas? Thanks

I've never had to prime before. However, when I turn the ignition to 'On' and crawl underneath the truck to where my GDP fuel pump is located, I don't hear it running but I can't tell you that I've heard it before. I believe that I have a spare but I don't know why it would have decided to die right when I changed my fuel filter.

I changed the fuel filter on my 01 and it wouldn't start, the lift pump was the culprit, had to put another lift pump on it, if you don't have a lift pump in the tank, they are subject to fail and take out the injection pump, Monte

If your GDP pump is a Walbro, I'd start there. My 1st Walbro went 100,000 + miles. The 2nd went 50,000, and the third never even got me out of the driveway. I went to the factory in tank and haven't looked back.

Thanks guys. It was my fuel pump. Fortunately, I had a spare GDP fuel pump (Walbro) that I swapped out. Works like a champ. I'm amazed though that it decided to fail at the same time I changed my fuel filter and just before leaving tonight on a 1,000 mile trip. I guess better to fail in my garage than out on the road.

Sometimes they just up and die for no reason. Lord knows I hate it when it happens. Glad you found the issue and got it fixed.

It probably died before you changed the filter but when you pulled the fuel filter out the system lost prime and the CP3 could no longer suck fuel into it because you introduced air into the system.
