I'm trying to put a #11 plate in a friends 98 and it has all gone flawlessly up the the boost elbow.

The elbow they sent in the kit has a loose set screw? I thought these things are suppose to be set? At it's current location there is NO resistance to the path of air. I can blow right through it. Is this right? I need to get this thing back together. Thanks.

My black allen-head screw (1/8" I think) came tightened to a preset bleed-off amount. However, I gave it another turn for good measure. The picture is after tightening. With a #10 and DD2's, my boost now tops out about 29-30 lbs. You might just want to tighten it and take for a test drive to get an idea of boost levels at different load conditions. Let me know how it turns out.

This rig does not have a boost gauge. If it did I would't feel so bad about guessing. As it worked out I slid the plate back just a hair, snugged up the set screw in the elbow, and went for a drive. There was much better power (than stock) and minimal smoke.

I'm happy considering no gauges and it isn't my truck. I would however like to know how it is "suppose" to be.

If I remember right, the setscrew should be way in, close to tight. I would run it all the way tight & then back off 1/8" turn.
