Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Help-Very Hard Starting 96

My 96 had set for about a week when I tried starting it this mourning. It usually starts right up but I had to crank and crank with the throttle pressed half way open, it started blowing gray-blue smoke, run real rough and died out, try starting again and the samething again,this went on 4x then it finally started blue smoke,run rough and finally smooth out and run fine and idled fine. This took about 10 min from no start to run. I ran into Austin and the truck started up and ran fine all day. Has anyone else had a problem before like this if so did you find the cause? It was if the cylinders where full of diesel or oil? I have had a bad return line hose before but this was not the same. I get no diesel smell at all before starting.

Its probably the rubber lines...

Thanks for replies,truck started right up today. Checked stainless lines and found trace of diesel on both lines along frame running down from above, I guess all the lines are leaking, it has been over100,000 miles ago since fuel hose's were replaced. Thanks again.
