I have come across a second ctd I would like to install in a 1st gen project. The engine is complete with turbo, manifolds, and so on. What else do I need? (Wiring, computer, etc... )

Or should I or can I just change the injection pump over to old style and then have a "plug and play" install?

Thanks, Karl:confused:

My son and I installed a '96 into his '90 with no problems:)

We did have to change to the '93 core support so we could use the larger radiator, and the intercooler. The A/C condenser off of a '93 was also used. It was an easy project, the only difficult item was the throttle cable which we ended up getting from Freightliner.

If you want to use the later model transmission you should go with a '94 or '95 transmission because the electronics are less involved with the 47RH than the 47RE. In fact, you can probably control the OD on a 47RH with your stock '93 electronics and add a switch to control the lockup clutch in the torque convertor.

I saw auto in your sig so I assumed that the conversion involved an automatic transmission.

If it's a manual then the only electronics involved is the fuel solenoid. I don't know how the '93 does this, but if you have a fuel shut off solenoid now you may be able to wire up the fuel solenoid from your stock circuitry. There are three wires to the fuel solenoid for the P7100. Two of them are pretty heavy, about 10 guage I guess. One of the heavy ones is black. It is a ground. The other is white. It is from the fuel solenoid relay. This wire is hot during start and controls the pull on coil. The other wire is smaller. It is on in run from the ignition switch. This wire controls the hold on coil. There are many posts on the 2nd gen 12 valve forum about this thing. It is pretty sturdy. When there is a failure involved with it the problem is usually the relay not the solenoid.
