Filled up tonight, got a couple hundered yards down the road, and water in fuel light came on. Drove it home about 3 miles, and let some bleed out. Went a mile or so down to the Pilot station (not where I fueled up) and got some diesel treatment to take water out. Let some more bleed out at Pilot. Put in additive and drove home. Let more bleed out. Light still on. Now truck won't crank? And I got a P 1693 code on odometer?

PLEASE HELP!

Sounds like your lift pump is not priming the filter. Bump the switch but do not start and let the lift pump run. Do this two or three times to see if your truck will start. If it does not start crack open number 1 and 3 injector line by head. That will bleed most of the air out then repeat the steps on bumping the switch.

This is to late as the date of your post but It is wise to Drain the filter of water any time the indicator comes on. Like right now . Do not wait till you get home it may be to late , also remove the filter and tap water out after cleaning bole replace or reuse the filter but make sure clean fuel fills from lift pump ,easy on a 99 at filter plug your choice later years.
