I did the oil vent tube mod last night. Ya know the one that relocates the breather to the valve cover and block the one off the front of the motor. Well, I was on my way to work today and dumped 10qts of oil out of it real quick !! I also drove approx for 1 minute w/ no oil presseure  (thinking my sensor just crapped out). Boy I was wrong. .

Major oil leak on left side of motor, near lnjection pump. I dont have a 53 block. Just looking for advise before I do the obvious, filler up and see where its leaking. I just hope I dont have to put the motor under a load to build that kind of crankcase pressure. .

Ideas of gaskets or seals in that general area before I dig in...

Its been a very long day!!!!!

Thanks Tom

My guess as to the leak is the side cover gasket. I had a similar experience with a leak in that area. Why??? Too much pressure in the crankcase? MIine was the hose I used to run the vent back farther under the truck had gotten kinked. I am not familiar with your mod, so can't comment on it.

Larry , you nailed it, just tore it all apart (that was fun  ) and your exactly right... Side cover gasket. see if I can find one tomarrow.

Looks like ill be putting my oil vent back where Cummins designed it to be !!

Heres the link to the original mod post, my findings are at the bottom. Please take the time to read, I dont not want any of you to have to go through what I did today!!
