:)I run my EZ on 1 for all towing and most driving. EZ on 2 occasionally in town and never on 3. Truck has 99,012mi

:mad:I am 700 miles from home at my mothers with no tools. I need to drive home no later than 1-22. Truck smoking white when idling , does not apparently smoke while driving but does smoke while decelerating. Oil does not smell or taste of diesel, oil level is full and truck uses less than a quart between oil changes, this change is 4k mi old. no excessive blowby or crank case pressure, crank case vent open and clear. I checked the joints of turbo elbow and pipe joints with no indication of oil in exhaust. Two tanks of fuel from different stations. No water in fuel filter. Idles and runs smooth. I do not understand the codes. Codes: 480- cooling fan 1 control circuit open ( low speed fan relay ). 477- exhaust pressure control relay low. 837-4wd switch performance rationality. 839-4wd switch high. 461- fuel level sensor 1 performance rationality. 234- over boost-- I caused this one when I unplugged my EZ I backed my boost control regulator down to 28# instead of 22#from the 34 I run with the EZ.

Is there a HIGHLY QUALIFIED MECHANIC? SHOP in or near Temple, Killeen, Waco, Austin TX. ??

Thanks

some of those codes could possibly make it go in limp mode. I'm sure someone will have an answer for you.

"Black=fuel, Blue/Grey=oil, White=water", This is the "rule of thumb" of smoking from exhaust for any vehicle with a combustion engine, but there are exceptions to this. White smoke may be burning water/coolant, if only at idle, may be a sign of a seeping head gasket. If you have been running higher than stock boost, that could be the cause of the head gasket failure, if that is where the water is coming from. Remove your radiator cap, be careful of coarse, and look to see if you have bubbles at the neck of radiator, that would indicate a leaking head gasket, and check at different RPM's. You mentioned no tools on hand, so you will either have to make a decision to have it trailered home or drive it home, no mater what the issue is. So if it was me, I just might try to drive it home, but I would drive it slow and keep as much pressure off of the throttle as possible. Also have a backup plan if it does breakdown on the road. The one thing you have going for you is the small rolling hills if you run into them in the flat land around Ft. Hood, I know it well from two years stationed at Ft. Hood.
