I have removed mine 5 or 6 times for various projects, instructions not required. Lift up the shift lever boots to expose the screws. I think there are 6 screws on the transmission boot and 4 on the transfer case boot. Once that is free, there are a few more brackets underneath. Remove the liner in the bottom of the cup holder to expose that one. Remove all the screws, then it's just a matter of wiggling and jiggling to get it out of your way. Depending on what you're doing, complete removal may not be necessary. If removal is necessary, you'll first have to remove the shift levers or knobs to get the boots off. It's not too tricky, just takes some patience.
