Inflatable Zodiac Boat... ...

Ok - My boat is essentially a 14ft model... . weighing about 180 lbs... ... I have an electric (110 Volt Harbor Freight Hoist)

- Harbor Freight Tools - Quality Tools at the Lowest Prices

It is mounted to my garage roof - which is 13 ft high... ... I want to Lift the Boat - Inflated - and leave it there..... suspended..... I have some very heavy Lifting Straps... ... BUT I want to lift it evenly. I had a 14ft lightweight aluminum jon boat that I used this system and a long steel rod..... that was a nightmare as I lifted it at one point... . and tried to balance the boat..... what a major PITA that was... ... Hopefully somebody can show me a simple way to do this... ... .

Now I ran across this site... ...

http://krabach.info/kayak_hoist/hoist.html

but wasn't sure if this (hand operated) should be modified... ... . ????

I built a cheap simple hoist for my truck bed with a few hardware store pulleys, some eye bolts, and nylon rope. I use my comealong to lift it. The bed lifts level. Email me if you want some pictures of it.
