Help with a Window Word Message.....

All of a sudden when I open Outlook - which uses Word as it's (message word processing tool) I get a window that says WORD and the typical yellow triangle with the following.....



This file contains macros with an expired or revoked signature. Since you are running under High Security Level these macros will be disabled.



Now I keep updated from Microsoft on..... not sure what caused this... ...

someone has a macro set up in that document. a macro is a piece of computer code that usually the end user has created to simplify/automate a task. for example, lets say you have to put an address in a document 100 times, rather than retype every time, you can record a macro so that you can press one button and the entire address fills in. This is a simple example, but that's the type of thing many macros are built for. macros can be very powerful, and it's very possible for someone to build a malicious macro that can cause lots of damage. Word and other office products have custom settings for the treatment of macros, such as your "High Security Level" that can basically block macros, or on lesser security levels, allow them to operate.

Understand what you said but

this happens everytime I try to open Outlook or Word for the first time..... no message that I am receiving but I'm starting the action.....

then you probably have an add-in, such as adobe acrobat or some other program that has built in macros installed that open as soon as you start outlook or word. you have 3 options:

1. find the macro and delete it (i can send you a pm showing you how)

2. live with the message (won't hurt anything, the only thing that will be affected will be your ability to use macros while high-security is enable, doesn't sound like you know how to use them anyway)

3. change your security settings to a lesser level so this particular macro in question won't cause that message, but you will have a reduced level of security from potential threats buried in a malicous macro (i can pm you on this as well)
