Those bars/steps are made by N-Fab. They are available for your 2006 model in either the 4-step (for doors) or 6-step (also includes a bed step). I would have gotten a 6-step set, because I wanted the bed step also, until I fould out how they mounted. They do not mount to the frame like other bars, they bolt to the metal flange at the bottom of the doors/bed. Since the bed can twist/articulate differently than the cab, there could actually be a binding between the bed and cab when off road. This type of mounting caused a lot of cab/bed problems on trucks in the past, so I am once again looking for a better mounted 6-step bar. I realize that you could mount only to the cab and leave the bed bolts off, but then the bar/step would not have it's strength to support weight at the bed end. I guess you could fab up some other type of mounting as well, to the frame-maybe, but I would rather have an already working product without all the hastles.

Good info on the mounting. I wanted the 4 step model anyway but not real happy about not mounting to the frame..... will have to give this some more thought... I really like the look and I have a welder but not real sure I want to mess with it... . but I might.

I have the N-Fab 6 step and while yes it's a pain to mount they are solid and have been for over a year. I did go with stainless hardware and have seen no rust on the pinch rail. I would recommend a right angle drill to ease install

I finally found some that mount on the frame. If anyone is interested, here's a link:

I am going order some and I'll post pics when I get them mounted. I called the guy at the shop and he said they mount to the frame and no drilling is required. There is on pic on the website that I found of them mounted on a Ford. If you go to the front end replacement section and move your cursor over the 'BAJA' example, a pic comes up of a truck with the side steps on it. They fit tight up to the rockers. Look good to me. They only come in a 3 step version. No 2 step version available.

I have a set of the N-fab 6 step bars on my 06 and they work great. I was skeptical about the mounting but have had no problems with them for the past year. And I use them every time I'm in and out the truck. The step for the bed does not mount to the bed so there is the bars or the cab/bed are not affected when the bed twists/articulates separately from the cab. I use the bed step just about everyday since I'm always having to get things out of the bed. If you end up with the T3 Equipment bars let us know about them.

Got mine at 4 wheel parts, at the retail store, not the website. Same company but different entities. As far as the steps holding up to the weight. its been about 8 months now and no problems. I wouldn't bounce on them especially the third step cause they will flex. Use common sence and they will last forever. I weigh 250 lbs and they have held up quite nicely. here are some pics... .
