New EGR rotors, pads, and calipers on in 2 hrs. flat. then 2hrs of trying to bleed all the air out. No luck. I've installed their 'speed bleeders' which have a one-way valve in them, which is supposed to make it easier.

What do you suggest?

Did you run the master empty during your bleeding procedure? if so, yo may need to bleed all 4 wheels if you haven't already done so.

This may seem like a stupid question, but are the bleeder screws oriented at the top of the caliper piston bore?

Is the symptom low or no pedal?

Negative on the dry master. I bled all four corners, starting farthest away from master.

Symptom: Pedal to the floor.

Looking through the service manual. They mention the combination valve and the rear anti-lock valve. I will try those this morning.

Also purchased the pressure bleeding system from EGR. However the part I need was broken in delivery. I'm also going to try to rig something up so I might be able to use it though.

Hmmm...

If you just replaced the front calipers, it seems difficult to imagine air getting into the rear circuit at all.

Did you start the engine and check to see if the brakes work at all? I vaguely remember the pedal "pushing back" when the engine is started after replacing my front pads a while ago. Remember, the brakes are hydraulic assist, not vacuum like most power brakes.

I read this tip on here a while ago and have used it several times since. Just attach a line to the brake bleeder valve and open it until fluid starts coming out. Keep an eye on the master cylinder and make sure it doesn't run out of fluid. Basically you are just letting gravity bleed the system. Start at the wheel furthest from the master and work backwards. I didn't believe it would work but it has for me every time. I even used this method when I added a line-lock to my truck where I introduced a ton of air into the system. It takes a while (probably close to the 2 hours it took you) to do all four but it's easy work.

Brakes

Re: emjay's post. I had a friend who took his gas Dodge pickup in to a shop and they replaced the front calipers but could never get the air out of the system. He asked me to look at it, calipers were reversed, left on right etc. and the bleeders were pointing down. Just wont work like that. bg

Problem Solved

EMJAY, Thanks for the stupid question.

Bleeders on the bottom. Apparently they were mismarked, or mispackaged. Anyways, switched them around, and now they work great!
