OK, I got my notice for a smog check and I went out and did the 3 x's on key check for codes. I got the 0237 & the 1693, of course. So I removed the XZT+ and put the factory air box back in, removed the safety wire from the wastegate, disconnected the batteries and left the ignition switch on over night. I still have the codes and the truck runs fine but the fuel economy on the overhead liar is atrocious. When it used to lie at about 19. 1 it now struggles to get to 17.

My question is this. Is the MAPS sensor bad? I have removed the connections at the MAPS and the ECU and recoated everything with dielectric grease and made sure that the connections are as good as they can be. Truck has 101K. I will be removing the MAPS and the IATS tomorrow to clean and reinstall. Any suggestions here on something that I am missing or should check?

As always, I appreciate any help that is offered.

Since its a low voltage code, its probably not a bad sensor. Its a good possibility those codes were set by your programmer. On certain vehicles its not possible to reset the cel by simply disconnecting the batteries, im pretty sure these trucks are the same way. Have you cleared codes this way before? Maybe somebody will correct me on this. I would take it somewhere with a decent quality scanner to have the ecm reset. Or, if you know somebody that has a smarty that will do the trick too.

Yes, I have been able to clear the codes in the past by disconnecting the batteries overnight. Will this code clear itself after a certain number of restarts or time since I have removed the programmer?

Thats very interesting i was always under the impression the cel couldnt be reset that way... as for the other question yes it will go out after many starts i believe its 30 to 40 assuming nothing else is tripping the codes... . depending on how much time you have to your smog check you may or may not have enough time to wait for the ecm to clear itself.

Excuse me but what is "Remove the safety wire on the wastegate" that you referred to. I don't recall anything on that.
