Last week I started my truck in the morning and it started right up. When it had ran about 45 seconds, it stopped running. I then cranked it for about 30 seconds and it tried to start, but would not. I then changed the fuel filter and cleaned the prefilter. They were a little dirty, but not enough to stall the engine. I then purged the air out of the filter and restarted it. Ran about 1 minute and died. I have rechecked every thing and have fuel to the injection pump, but no fuel from the high pressure side. I have the fuel shutoff lever disconnected from the solinoid and held in the run position. Any ideas, Thank you, Tom

Tom,

When you ask a question we need to know what year your truck is at minimum. I'm assuming that you have a 12 valve of some sort. If you truck is a '94 to '98, email me at -- email address removed -- for my write up on the 12 valve fuel supply system, how it works and how to fix it.

You should fill out your signature so we know what you are driving.

I take it because you mentioned pre-filter that you have 12 valve (As Joe suggested a signature would be nice or a least mention year of truck).

If your getting fuel to the injection pump I would try cracking open some injector lines until you see fuel.

Talking about fuel do you have enough? (Has the infamous fuel sending unit hit again. )

Are you holding the solenoid up manually (hand) is attached/tied to someting or is the solenoid completely off?
