Help with installation of BD 2 speed shifter

I have a BD exhaust brake and recently purchase the BD 2speed shifter for the 6 speed. The instruction for the 2 speed shifter said to pull two female plug off from the toggle switch (red wire) and attached two male adapter to the white and black wire of the 2 speed shifter and plug the two wire together. Questions, Is the BD 2 speed shifter, a direct replacement for the toggle switch that came with the exhaust brake kit or do we have the option to use the toggle switch and the 2 speed shifter switch? Any help will be appreciated. Thank in advance.

It should be in the instructions. If I remembr right, you can go either route, with or without the BD swith.
