Put an HTT Street Stock 62/12 on my friends 2001 2500 auto (goerends TC and VB), 4" exhaust, 3. 54 running gears, mach 1. 6 injectors(90 hp injectors), aem brute force intake, quadzilla Xzilleriader 120HP box. Talked to HTT before purchasing this turbo and agreed this is the right turbo for the application, but on all setting we are having EGT issues. 120 setting will hit 1500 real quick. 70 will hit 1500. 30 will hit 1400. All these are short blasts WOT runs and I do mean short. Checked for boost leaks, no boost leaks. We are making peak boost real quick. Just looking for some help on how to get this pig cooler. Should we get a 14 exhaust housing or go to a larger turbo? Any other things to check to see if something is wrong?

I would go with a super stock 62 for your application. I can run wot & only see 1400 briefly with my 150hp injectors & drag comp. If he doesn't tow then maybe a quick diesel 64. The key to lowering egts is to get the largest turbine wheel that you can spool & bigger housings will lower egts. I had a 62/12 & went to a 62/14 & saw a drop in egts of 150*. When I sent my turbo in & got the 24/62 super stock with the killer wheel... I saw faster spoolup & egts dropped another 200*.

How much boost are you running?

For reference, I'm set at 36-40 psi, and with everything turned up I'll barely touch 1300*. On my lower settings it takes a while to crack 1100*. My cam is good for a 100-200* egt drop though, so that needs to be factored in.

Im running a SPS66 and 6's and dont run hot unless i fuel real hard. I would look at a 64 . But it dose seem like that 62 is pretty hot. I think if you went to a 14 you would cool quite a bit more!
