Hello all, I have a leveling kit I want to try to get on my truck here in the near future. It's the Hellbent 2" kit with the spacer block for the stabl. bar. I also ordered a set of the silver bilstiens from Genos to do at the same time. My problem is I had shoulder surgery recently and I know if I try to install it I'll end up doing more damage to it. Anyone in my area done one of these and might be up for doing another with my limited assistance? :) Of course I dont expect you to work for nothing. Even a recomendation on a shop would help if you know of one. I talked to a local garage and they didnt express much interest in even doing it. I'm halfway between Cincy and Dayton in SW Ohio if anyone has any suggestions. Thanks! Eric

I can't make a recommendation, but I can feel your pain - I too had shoulder surgery and am "not allowed" to work on my truck..... heck I haven't been able to drive it in 8 weeks (my right shoulder and my truck is a manual trans). I am having a leveling kit installed, SBC clutch, pacbrake and rear airbags right now..... most of which I would have done myself! Having someone else do all the work is killing me (and my wallet!)

I hear ya Scooby! At least what I'm doing is strictly elective. Alot of what you're doing is a little more critical. I have at least been able to drive being I have an auto. Do you have many specialty shops in your area? I know we sure dont have I feel has a real knowledge and interest in our trucks. Maybe we're just a little overprotective!

I used to be really overprotective - but I purchased this truck used... and have found myself to be less worried about the little things. I also have two small children now so I don't have time to be worried about the little "truck" things anyway.

Oh, just got the call - you can add the repair of a leaking front diff seal to that list now as well!

The shop I am using was recommended by SouthBend Clutch. The guy is a little out in the sticks (distance wise) from my home, but he is into these trucks. He is also extremely nice, courteous and knowledgable. He took a photo of my leaking seal and emailed it to me. I actually knew it was leaking but completely forgot to ask him about it when I dropped off the truck. His pricing is reasonable - I have a good feelling about his workmanship even though I don't have the truck back yet.

I did exactly what you want to do, same lift and shocks. The only issue is the parts on these trucks are heavy. I had to unhook the track bar to get the front diff low enough and disconnect the steering. I did it in the driveway by myself. The toughest part is getting the track bar hooked back up. Someone suggested that you just need to have someone turn the steering wheel to shift the housing enough to line it back up. I would suggest a set of urethane bushings for the track bar when you do this. As far as the shoulder is concerned; do you have any cousins or kids or nephews that you could teach (direct) to help you do this for you? I'm with you on the body giving out. I can't even change oil without pulling what, I think, are still muscles.
