Well I did it to myself. I was running the wire for my TQ converter lockup switch using a piece of bare copper wire to snake it through the firewall when I dropped it onto the positive battery terminal. BSSST!
I already had it tied into the transmission wire and I think I fried my transmission controller. transmission still shifts, but they seem a little more harsh. One good thing is that it will shift into overdrive at about 35 MPH. Better mileage in town, but with the TST I get a code every once in a while because of the low RPM in overdrive thing.
Question is, can the controller be reflashed or will I have to replace it? I'm taking it in Monday to let the tech check it out. Just wanting to know a little about it before I go in. I can replace it myself if that is what is needed.
If so, can I get one from a salvage yard and replace it?
Any suggestions are appreciated.
