i am going to sell my 97' 12v 4x4 auto extcab long bed w/122k. i am trying to get an idea of what i could sell this for.

i bought the truck with 57k on it 3. 5 years ago as a stock truck. the previous owner bought it new and said he used it to tow his 28' travel trailer from PA to FL each year.

since that time i have used it as a daily driver only towing my 23' mako boat a time or two a year.

i have upgraded the transmission to a tripple disc for prevenative maintenace, a fuel plate installed, boost, pyro, and transmission temp where installed prior to purchase, upgraded the tires to nitto's and added aluminum wheels. also a bhaf with a heat shield and sock.

exterior is basically in good condition, with a few scratches, interior is in good condition but shows normal wear for age.

i also have the stock steel wheels to throw in if it makes a difference.

according to guides i should sell truck for 10-14k... . that is a broad range... . but iwant it to sell, what should i ask , what should i settle for?

any input appreciated.

tks

I would say start at $12,000 and make it neg. and also if anyone is interested tell them you you will lower it if they dont want the wheels.

I sold my 98. 5 for 13800 with a scratch from the whel to the bumper from getting to close to a fence post engine stock ,no guages, con ofe and nv5600 upgrade 174 k miles

just to give you an idea Kevin

10-12 should be good. I bought my 97 bone stock with 122K, almost two years ago for 11,000. Not a lick of rust, but it had been repainted, because of scratches.

Start at 13, with your mods it should be an easy sell. You may be looking for a while, make sure you put plenty of ads in. I bought my '97 bone stock for $13. 5 (120k). It may seem high, but I was getting impatient, plus the 120k are not rough miles, just everyday driving miles.

If you ask me the value of 12 valves are just going to be going up...

The 12V had extremely good resale, until the advent of the CR. Nobody really wanted to by the "unreliable" VP44 equipped cummins. So a 97 12V would bring more than a 98 24V. Since the CR's run so well, the value of the 12V has dropped, I think. If I had a good 12V and the only option was a 24V vp44 I would have probably held on to the 12V too.

westtn---i checked the kbb, nada, black book, etc..... i have found the folks on this website are better judge of price then any guide availble

i forgot to mention that it has a pacbrake also.....

almost hate to get rid of it... but a couple my rental unit condo associations do not allow trucks in the complx... except for working... . my parents live in one..... needless to say i am not always working on there unit... so i am getting in trouble all the time.

thanks for everyones input
