I have the original Smarty Jr. It's set on #1. I bought it to gain fuel economy -- it certainly does that. I'm tired of manual smoke control. It doesn't smoke badly, but it is embarrassing. My question is simple:
Do I go to PoD to solve this?
If so, do I set truck back to stock, then upgrade the Jr. , then re-flash to some setting?
I have the G56 with the DMF in a later model '05 that has the metal inter-cooler end caps. I don't want to smoke my clutch. What would be the best settings for fuel mileage driven gently MOST of the time with MINIMAL smoke?
I have a 11k# fiver that I pull. Would I want different settings for when I'm going to pull?
I'm empty most of the time. I do a lot of highway miles [empty], but I want to not smoke at stop lights when I'm not spooled no matter how hard I launch; and also don't want to be smoking while I'm pulling.
Will I be taking a fuel mileage hit to get my smoke minimized?
I know this is a long question with multiple parts. I personally think we need a document with generalizations for starting points. Suggested chapters might be 1. Fuel Mileage Improvement; 2. Power Improvement; 3. Saving your transmission; 4. Minimize the smoke; 5. Upgrading the truck's firmware; 6. Upgrading the Smarty Jr. 's firmware; 7. Miscellaneous Generalizations [such as exhaust temp. etc. ]
I believe that there are quite a number of us that need some help. I need a *cookbook*. Does anyone think a cookbook would be valuable, or am I just blowing smoke?
Thanks for listening to my ramble. MRFost.
