I'm the third owner of a '95 CTD that has a number of mods that the PO could not identify. It's been a sorting out process. The last part of the puzzle is the turbo. The motor has a 215 pump with other mods, and produces 35# of boost without much problem. I'm fairly certain that the turbo is not stock because of the produced boost, and a note in the maint. log of the first owner indicating new turbo and new injectors. The injectors have since been replaced. The raised stamp on the housing says Holset and the raised numbers are difficult to read, but looks like 19B6N. The "B" might be an "8", and the "N" might be a "1". The Holset ID plate reads as follows:

Assy# 3534919;Serial#C-0767B11; Customer#3534920-0-03/6; Model#HX35W

I've looked all over the internet for info and haven't really found any help. If anyone has info that could help me out, or knows of a website that would answer the question I'd really appreciate it. It won't be the end of the world if I cannot figure this out, but it would be nice to know.

Thanks, Skip

The "W" in the model number stands for wastegated. The HX35 came stock with a 12cm2 housing, but was available with 14,16,18, and 21cm2 housings. I think it also was available with options for the compressor and the turbine.

When you get up over 35psi with the stock turbo your making so much more drive pressure than boost than it almost acts as EGR when the camshaft overlaps.

HX35W means it is an HX-35 Holset turbo, as came stock on Dodges of that era. . The W means in factory configuration, it was wastegated. The wastegated housings would be either 12 or 14 sq. cm. Most likely by far is a 12.
