My buddy just purchased a 93 350 turbo. We drove it home !

Some of the wires are messed up under the dash, a few w/ burned insulation, etc. !

Also, a few lights stay on when they shouldn't, several relays have been added by the previous owner(s) !

Can a new harness be obtained. . and where could we find a decent wiring diagram for the same veh ??

Thanks, Futures1

Buy a FSM, factory service manual, from Geno's Garage. The relays might be for the headlites and taillites. The headlite switch is notorious for melting, especially if you have the extra load of trailer lites on it. Relays are the fix for this.

I think I'd get the book, then check and see what wires are fried before I started changing a harness. Might be added stuff, stereo or what ever.

You'll probably do better building your own harness. Or at least modifying a stock one to handle the loads you put on it. In most case you can eliminate a few wires and shorten the routing on others.

In one of my former lives I designed wiring harnesses for industrial equipment and built the tooling to assemble them. I've never been much impressed with auto wiring harnesses.

just be sure that you do all of your wiring as neat as possible. because you never know when or why youll have to get under there again, and wires add up very quickly and can create some nasty spagety real fast especially if he wants to add gauges or anything, just remember the shorter and more hidden the wires are, usually the better...

Thank you all. . we have it working well ;o) Also installed a couple of relays... Did learn that the ground wires are also very important !

i have to disagree with you on this one matt, ive become the ground wire for many differnt things many differnt times. for example, just last night, i was holding a piece of that exhaust pipe, with a sweaty hand, between the ground clamp and my wirefeed... . after streightening my arm in . 002 seconds i went and got my glove outa the tool box. not the first time thats happend. back when i did construction, i got zapped all the time wiring houses. 120 wont bother you too much, but 220... well i try to aviod shaking hands with him :D

Yeah, unfortunately I've jolted myself on pretty much anything and everything possible. That yellow caution tag they put on transformers and such of the guy getting attacked by the angry electricity ball... thats actually a portrait of me.
