After my torque coverter upgrade, two major malfunctions happened. :

1). Injector pump began leaking 200 miles after the installation of the torque coverter. I believe this was an isolated non-related problem. Dodde has replaced it under warranty.

2). Nasty vibration while idling, cruising at various speeds and especially bad when transmission is shifted into reverse. This began exactly when the injector pump when bad.

Dodge has had the truck all week and can't figure it out. They looked at the injectors, crank sensor, hooked up the diag computer. Engine is running fine, just can't find where the vibration is. They even took it to their transmission expert and he doesn't think it's related to the transmission.

Question I have is :

Does the shaft fromm the engine to the transmission turn at all when the truck is in reverse, drive or neutral and not moving? Is it possible that the shaft bent afetr the torque converter was installed. I did not get the billet shaft when I installed the converter!

I don't have an answer, but I can direct you to someone that might help, and he isn't very far from you. Give Rick at Dave's Diesel a call, (260) 665-5396.

He is right up the road from you in Angola IN, I-69 exit 150. He has a multiple bay shop, and is a transmission expert. He handles many manufactures products relating to the Big 3 diesel trucks. If he can't help, he will know someone that can. He is usually in the shop till 3pm on saturdays, give him a call. He has worked on my truck, thousands $$$ worth, I can't say enough good things about him.

Rick is the one that just installed the ATS torque converter. I brought the truck back to him right when it started to vibrate because I thought it might have been related to the TC. He didn't know why it was vibrating.

In neutral yes, I had the same problum on My 94 when I did a converter up grade it turned out to be the part of the converter that goes in to the transmission was out of round by . 020 after about 12000 miles it took out the transmission oil pump bushing and front seal
