I just drilled the hole for my pyro. probe right above the turbo flange where it bolts to the manifold, went to put the probe in and it only goes in about 1/4 in. Don't know what to do.

Did you drill off to one side? There is a web in the middle of the manifold, it is really two chambers feeding the turbo.

Were you able to get the tap in farther than 1/4 inch? If so, then you must have missed the web in the middle but you didn't tap in far enough. Since it's a tapered thread, you've got to run the tap in far enough to give you enough engagement on the probe. When I do it I gradually run the tap in farther a few turns, then check how far the probe goes in. Once I get the probe to go in about 1/2 way, I stop tapping and tighten up the probe.

I drilled about a 1/4 in. to the left of the center but... I really don't want to plug that hole and try again but I may have to. no, I'm pretty sure it's in the web because I drilled a little more (about 1/2 in. ) and it's still not through. The probe won't go in far enough to reach the threads.

DuDubose, can you post a picture. your choices are drill bigger and than use a reducer bushing,or use a 6 point plug and drill a new hole 1. 25 from the center divider. I think your best shot is to plug and tap a new hole.
