I am flogging a dying VP, the guys at the local dealer are great, but

this will be their first in-tank retrofit... Are there any Dodge techs out

there who would be willing to pass on some advice, links, etc. to them?

They don't seem to be getting much out of D/C, if you can believe that. :(

I was hoping someone who had done the swap could give directions to

the bulletins or whatever for doing this. Either I can pass it on, or put you

in touch with them. It is a warranty job, thank goodness. About got me

run over today, shot a gap in traffic, and no go pedal :--)

Thanks, Jeff

do you have a dying VP or LP???

The new style LP goes in the tank, The guys in our shop just done one last week and the directions that come with it a pretty straight forward. Wasent a big deal to switch out unless you have a full tank at the time.

I believe it to be the VP, dead pedal getting worse daily, and 216 codes, funny thing,

truck has always had A-1 fuel pressure, bought it new. 15+ idle, never goes below

10. I believe it is electrical in nature, at first at least, seemed to be heat-related.

Now, it will do it on a cold start up. How this all came up, they told me they would not install a new vp without doing the lp also, its their dime, so who am I to argue? Then they (with my help) figured out you can't order the lp anymore, have to go in-tank, and mine will be their first, so they are a little concerned. I will pass the info on about the instructions, that should ease their mind. They (we) are in a small town, and don't do the volume that some of you guys see - Today the parts man was in a quandry about which parts to order, I told him to order them all and send back what they didn't need- lol!

He was not aware until I told him, that it was warranty. I should explain, I know

all these guys well, I used to turn wrenches with my Dad, an independant shop,

and I was the gofer of parts, so I saw these guys almost daily. They seem to have

an exceptionally keen interest in doing me right on this deal, good folks. I will try to

make sure I have only a quarter tank or less for them, God bless a mechanic, it is

a helluva way to make a living - I went back to my primary thing, tool and die. Thanks, Jeff
