does anyone know if i put a 4. 11 rear in place of a 3. 54 this is a 95 with a auto if this will work how do you recal the speedo and i wonder what it will do to the engine rpms

Not 100% sure, but I think the dealer has to recal the speedo.



Any particular reason for the swap, pulling power? Will lose some mileage. Personally, if yopu need more power, I'd turn the engine up before changing gear sets. I'd 'bout rather have 3. 55 in my dually. Plenty of power now.

I like to have the 3:55s and then power up the motor . best of both worlds , mpg & power .
Unless your pulling a lot of weight up hill .
With the none computor trucks like the 95 you change the seedo drive gear in the trans.
differant colors differant ratio's , if you go to the dealer and they know what there doing , they should be able to give you the right one by telling them what you have & what you want .

Or you can get an adaptor made to the exact ratio you need, eliminating the need to change gears in the transmission.



Going to 4. 11 from 3. 54 will increase your engine RPMs about 15% at a given road speed. Expect a similar drop in MPGs empty.
