hi

I have a 91. 5 truck and about 3 months ago the stock steering gear box started to make the truck want to wander to the right so naturaly i would hold pressure in the oposite direction, but then after a week or so of that the truck started to fight back, I would be driving down the road holding steady pressure to the left (to counter steer the pull) and sudenly the truck would dart violently to the left and then when i would counter steer back to the right it would do the same in that direction and soo on after about 10 seconds or so, i would be able to regain control of the vehicle and it would go back to its steady pull. the truck would periodically do this every once in a while increacingly until it was at the point were it did it all the time.

***All this happend in roughly week in a half***

To fix the problem i put a PSC gear box on, along with a borgson steering shaft this solved the problem 100%. I had it on for about 2 mounth when the exact same thing happened AGAIN #@$%! i dont know what to do. could there be a problem with the power steering pump that is destroying my gear box. or by some freak chance could the problem be that I ended up with 2 misfuntioning gear boxes in arrow with the same thing wrong with them

Any ideas are apprecated!!! Thanks

I'd be looking for a pump coming apart and sending trash into the valve on the steering box. That assumes that nothing is coming apart in the front suspension or front axle.

What is it ?

 I would check all steering joints carefully, kingpins, wheel bearings, checking things over carefully costs less than fixing the wrong stuff. Just my poor boy ways, I can't afford to fix things unless they really are bad.

Sounds like similar to what I had been dealing with. I got the borgson. It didn't help. Like you said... Hold the steering wheel against the "pressure"
toward the right and the truck would jump to the left with out warning.
Here is what I did...
Lock in the front hubs, in a wide parking lot while moving spin the steering right and left. My steering problem got worse when I did that..... It lead me to suspect my front axle u joints. I had them replaced and am a happy camper once again.

Good luck... .
