hercules diesel

Hey. . does anyone know anything about the hercules d-198 engine?? its a 4 cyl. diesel used in military gen sets. or somplace to find info. want info on fuel system and bell houseing... . most any info would be helpful..... I am wondering how one would work for a repower in small pickup. toyota maybe. . thanks.

They are remanufacturing them again in limited qty after coming out of bankrupcy again. Around 4K something for one, not sure if it is turbo or not.



You could search the big electric forum. There has been several threads about them as they are a bolt in replacement for the old Dodge M37. I can't remember the name of the company that was selling them, but it wil be on the forum.



On the Toyota question. Weren't the Australian versions offered with an Isuzu 4BD1 as an option. Probably would be an easier swap with a much better chance of getting repair parts.
