Sorry for the delay, but Mother Nature reminded us just how much in control she is with an ice storm. But all is well. The DHRA crew has chosen their favorites for you to chose from. The event will be officially titled DHRA Diesel Nationals @ IRP. But once again, we'll have the TDR membership give the event a pen name. Thanks for everyone's input!

None of those have the ring that "Thunder in Muncie" had, whatever you name it I'll bet something or someone will come out of Indy after the first one happens and have a better name for it. I think Diesel Nationals sounds better than Thunder in Indy or any of the other ones. Just go with that.

Title should have DIESEL in it and the name should be capable of repersenting many locations so the name can stay the same no matter witch town the event is held

it needs a name change. I have read all the great ideas that were given in other threads/posts, please reconsider the use of a different name.

Just throwing this out there. A problem I might see is Eric and the gang may have already started pressing forward with things involving the establishment of the Diesel Thunder name.

The name chosen by the TDR membership is only an internet name for the event. The official name is and always has been DHRA Diesel Nationals. But, we do not want to interfer with our diesel brothers in Spokane. DHRA will only refer to the event as "DHRA Diesel Nationals, or Diesel Nats, or Diesel Nationals".

I hope this hasn't caused Big Bob any undue stress. And yes, Cliff, you will still get your goodies. Thanks.

Oops. In my zeal to re-write the DHRA web site code, I unintentionally used the common name of our Indiana event. As Eric said, the official name is "DHRA Diesel Nationals"; that is the name I should have used on the website, and the name DHRA should use in all of our references to the event.



I will change the DHRA web site to use the correct name.

Heck, I remember when I saw you post the first time about calling the Spokane event Diesel Thunder. All of this has jogged that memory. No sweat, any time DHRA posts about the Indy event we will refer to it as DHRA Diesel Nationals.
