Well guys, just made it back from the Oakland area with the 1st Gen. The trip was 2184 miles to the door, and averaged 17 miles to the gallon (hand calculated of course)

The truck rode and drove great. Used no oil???? I am wondering why the oil in the 1st gen is clear after a 2200mile trip and the oil in my 3rd gen is filthy looking right after a start up with no miles????

I counted 9 1st gen trucks on my trip, but none like the one enclosed. Spoke to a couple of guys a fuel stop between Reno and Sacramento in the mountain area. Great guys.....

Anyways hope the pic tells the story. :D :D :D

SAAAWEEET! that is worth the drive & more!

PS Wana get rid of those nasty running boards... I think you truck would look SOOO much better without them :D :-laf

Good lookin' truck! I always liked the white/gray combo, a guy at the local Carquest store had one just like that. I wish I could have bought it when he got his '02. Well, edit your signature what are you waitin for? :-laf

Truck or Tank?

Is that a truck or is it a tank??? :-laf

Nice Truck!! I love the bumper! That could give some slow riceburners a heart attack!

NICE!

Yeeeeaaa.............

I was having second thoughts about selling the '04, but all those thoughts dissipated when I first laid eyes on the truck. Yea, it doesn't ride as nice, doesn't have the same power, will need more tinkering, but what the heck, it's different.

I have every receipt ever spent on the truck, an owners manual and a service manual.

OOOOH and it has air horns.

Kind of strange though, drive 2200 miles without a glitch and a few blocks from home the brake warning light comes on, maybe a sensor.

gauges

Thanks Carl... . you're driving a very nice rig as well. I looked high and low for a 1st gen and never came across one at a decent price. I bought new, but all the while I had this inkling for a 1st gen, came across this one and made an offer. The people said if I was silly enough to fly down and take ownership I could have it. :-laf :-laf . Didn't take me long to make the flight arrangements.

As I said the '04 is up for sale.

Can you send me pics of your gauges? I'll be ordering some as soon as I decide which ones to order.

Did you address the KDP issue on yours? Did you do it yourself or get it done?

You Got Mail

Like i said in the email a buncha great guys from a thousand miles away did my guages and KDP. If they're having another meet next year we should make a Dodge Highway Train lol ;) You certainly wouldn't regret going, there aren't enough OOO's in cool to describe Philip, Greenleaf and everyone else that showed last year:)

Sweet ride, good find, and welcome to the club.

Keep the running boards on, I took mine off, and within a few weeks they were all rock chipped up and about 4 years I have rust holes in both rocker panels. :( I learned that lesson, after I get the rockers fixed, new boards are going on and mudflaps too.

Very nice find of a truck.

Hey Ron-

You shoulda seen what I saw today. It's a truck that looks alot like the one you just picked up-it was one hell of a nice lookin truck. If I could have got a hold of you I woulda got you to come down and check it out... . you might not have had to go to Cali to get a truck like that, I saw one in Headingley which is a helluvalot closer than Oakland LOL :D ;) ;) ;)

Dammit now i want a dually crew cab.

Wait a minute. . I swore I took the beast out for a little spin on that day :-laf

DOH :-laf ;) I'll have to check the mileage.
