Back in November, we told you about a class-action lawsuit that was organized by the Hagens Berman Sobol Shapiro LLP (HBSS) law firm. In that lawsuit, the HBSS firm was seeking damages and financial retributions for 2007.5 – 2012 Turbo Diesel owners over faulty emissions.

Now, the HBSS folks have targeted the 2013 – 2017 trucks. Should you need some help falling to sleep, here is a link to HBSS’s complaint.

DEFENDANT NAME: FCA US LLC, Cummins Inc.
CASE NUMBER: 2:17-cv-12168-TGB-SDD
COURT: U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan
PRACTICE AREA: Automotive Litigation, Emissions Litigation
STATUS: Active
DATE FILED: 07/03/17

In light of the VW scandal, should we be surprised by the numerous lawsuits and investigations that we are seeing?

I don’t have an answer. But Issue 97 of the Turbo Diesel Register (August delivery) takes a look at the industry in both our “BITW” column and “TDReview” column.

The TDReview article is titled, “The Diesel’s Demise – Cheating, Part II.” Rather than make you wait for your August magazine to arrive, I will try to post both the BITW and TDReview articles later this week.

For now, it just looks like more bad news for Ram/Cummins.
