As I drive down the street yesterday I came home pulled in my garage, got out and went to get the mail; this little girl about 7 years old was walking by and said, "hey Mr. , I love your truck, it sounds like a semi. " I almost cracked up! Sure did make my day!!

Yeah, I second that motion. I've only met two women in the past four years who don't say it sounds like a "garbage truck". That's so negative. They could say "fire truck" or "tractor trailer", but purposely say a negative comment.

Wife came home Saturday evening and said as she was putting gasoline in our Dynasty, she heard the sound a big diesel truck and looked up and I drove by--she knew that I had serviced it that afternoon and she swore up and down that I had removed the muffler from the truck because it was so loud--she said she heard it almost a block away, I just told her she was getting used to the sound of Power.

My family loves the way that our truck sounds. My wife made me get out 2 blocks from the house so that she could drive so I could hear the way the truck sounds. She said that it sound awesome without the cat and muffler(straight 3").

My brother's driveway has a row of evergreen trees that make it impossible to see what is coming up the driveway. When I drove up the driveway to see him, he said he was wondering if he had ordered a triaxle load of gravel! #ad

I wondered at first why my wife encouraged me to get my truck. It was a good one at a good price, good condition, etc. , but she was so encouraging...

The day I bought it, our first outing was to Home Depot; seems she had been thinking about a utility shed for the backyard... 1200lbs of prefab went home with us that day, up the steep hills to mountain home.

3 weeks later she asked me to stop by a nursery on my way home and pick up some plants she had ordered. Knew I’d been had when two forklifts started moving toward the truck! 9 half-grown trees and all connected soil and straw... I figure another 1500 lb load--up those hills.

Now she’s got me running back and forth to her Mom’s property bringing rocks and small trees for transplanting.

Hmmm.

The upside of this is she loves the truck as much as I do... but for different reasons! She says the noise to her means hill-hauling power. She even helps me wash it. Think I’ll keep her! (Er... truck and wife both!)

While I was doing a burnout about 3 years ago,I saw in the mirror that my Girlfriends daughter had snuck up behind the truck from the garage. She was jumping up and down IN the tire smoke, (at a safe distance behind the truck), laughing her head off! She was 9 at the time, and goes nuts when I let that turbo whistle up hill. I see problems coming at 16!!
I had a lot of "coal truck, and tractor" comments with no muffler, but when I put a Turbo muffler on it,they ask,"Why does yours sound so different from the others?"
To the general public, there must be a fine line between annoying and sounding powerful.

I was in the aircraft biz for about 20 years. One day a man and I were having lunch at an airport cafe. He was bragging about his little Cessna 172. I politely listened for awhile and then asked if his wife shared his love for flying? He instantly shot back at me with: "My second one does"! I love it when a man has his priorities straight.

Its a 2 hr 45 min. ride from our house to where we go on the coast. My wife and kids sleep over an hour of that, and during that time is when I'm pulling the coast mountain range. So the noise doesn't bother them in the least.

I often haul around a friend's kids to soccer practices & etc. One girl, 12, likes my straightpiped exhaust. She likes the turbo howl when the windows are rolled down. A couple months ago I was explaining that I was going to eventually get a new exhaust system (4") with a muffler on it so it wouldn't be quite as loud.

She instantly protested, "But I like your exhaust loud!!" #ad
