I'm going to be staying in the Dallas area for a few days to see my daughter. She lives in the Highland Park area, and I'd like to find some inexpensive (ie. , Motel 6, Super 8. , etc. ) somewhere within 5-6 miles of where she lives. I asked her, but her tastes are more in line with Beverly Hills. So I was wondering if you'd recommend staying in any certain area, or even staying OUT of any certain area. I found some hotels in The Audelina & Garland area (Motel 6), around Dallas Love field, and a Hearthside Studio Up near the junction of 635 and 75, and one over by Dallas Love field. Having never been in the area, I'm a little unsure of which one to put my dime on... .

Thanks!

Any of those areas can get pretty seedy. You're best bet is probably the 635/75 area out of the ones you mentioned. Only downside is that it could be a little inconvenient due to the construction taking place on the interchange for said highways. Love Field would be the closest but like Scot said, you better pack some heat. If you feel the desire to go to Southfork I'm about 4 miles south of there so stop on by.

There's a Days Inn just off I-30 in Garland. It's a fair drive from Highland Park, but it lists for under $40 per night (plus tax). The neighborhood isn't bad. There's also a Northern Tool store right across the street!
