Competition Snap! said the output shaft

I have been de-throned

Well, among my friends, anyway. My 4x4 all-motor record of 12. 43 @ 107 mph was smashed at Rocky Mountain Raceway yesterday as Mr. Richard Madsen (Division 7 Director) took his Halfbreed truck to an 11. 99 @ 115.

Congratulations "Maddog" that is impressive sir!

Fast Ford

Now that you mention it, there is something noteworthy to share:)

MADDOG's Cummins powered crew cab Ford was at the track last night and made the first run ever with the new powerplant. He knocked everbodys socks off wfith a 11. 99 @ 115 mph!!! The big block chevy in the other lane never had a chance:rolleyes:

This represents the first real test of the engine as prior to installing the billet input shaft the transmission wouldn't hold up to the torque. The collection totals three broken input shafts to date:{

There was only one run last night cause he broke out, by a LOT! He had a 12. 80 dial in and ran 11. 99:p But tonight the truck gets it's first test at the sled pulls. I expect it to do just as good pulling as it did at the track.

This amazing lil engine is running Performance Diesel EDM race injectors and a Performance Diesel twin turbo system. We O-ringed the head and deck to keep the 90 psi in the engine where it belongs. Performance Diesel also supplied some of the intercooler plumbing to help get all that air into the engine.

I just talked to Richard(Maddog) and it wasn't from breaking out that kept him from another pass. At 11. 99 ET he now needs a roll cage and 5 point harness along with some other stuff. Richard still has some more power to put to his kick butt Cummins powered Ford. He still has some lazer cut delivery valves for even more fuel.

Oh yes one more thing this was done at 4200 feet in 95 deg dry temps...

I guess he was a lil excited last night Drawson;)

To bad, but no sled pull for the mean green machine tonight. Family is taking priority this afternoon. I guess that is as it should be.

BTW, I can assure you that truck ain't getting a cage and 5-point harness:rolleyes: That would be for the same reason I used to call it the "School Bus", he has five kids to haul around:eek: Besides, school buses don't have seat belts, much less five point harnesses:D

Now we see the ET's ect from folks so here is a question, who will be the first to run 120 MPH without drugs in full trim... . say 6000 lbs, not that I'm one to brag cause I would get my butt smacked but I have been 111 MPH with only fuel and straight water injection... no methanol... . 114 with!

I realize that MPH doesn't win races, it's just a thought

Jim

Hey nowell, was he running the gas, or was this in fact straight #2. Either way, freaking amazing, and on his first trip to the track. Looks like you better get cranking on the red rocket:D

Wow is all I can say. 11's on fuel only with a crew cab 4x4. Congrats to Maddog and HVAC. HVAC,are you using a KSB1 for the primary turbo?

Am I reading this correctly???? A "Crew Cab 4X4 ????" That thing must weight every bit of 6850++++ (someone correct me on Weight please).

That is beyond amazing !!!!!! Way to go Maddog and HVAC, you guys are definently "On your Game..... "

Yes Jimbo, all them years of high school learnin have paid off. ;) :D

I would imagine that thing weighs closer to 7500-8000 pounds.

Straight Diesel

Rubberneck asks:

"Hey nowell, was he running the gas"

Nope, no Nos or LP.

Snow Man asks:

"HVAC,are you using a KSB1 for the primary turbo"

Nope! Based on my 2 1/2 years experience building twin systems I joked with Richard that he was going to have the best twin turbo system on the planet :) But seriously, his turbos are performing phenonenally, as well or better then I anticipatedOo.

Shrimpy, Gitch is closer on the weight. He's about 7500 lbs. He pulled the hitch off before going to the track.

That huge Ford is truly a "Dreamtruck" in the way it's so streetable, gets over eighteen miles per gallon, can tow with anyone, and can run down 3/4's of the vehicles at the stripOo.

That is truely impressive to get a massive 7500lb brick to go 11. 9's! He must be making 890hp or so? Thats 200 more than he made at MM. You guys must of really done some serious tweaking in the past couple weeks. When you made 790hp that was on drugs was'nt it Nowell? You guys must have Joe D tuning that truck to get 890 on fuel only. Engine looks beautiful. What are the six braided lines used for?

HuffnPuff

You are correct, I made 790 with the Nos on, 685 without. No propane on the truck for about a year now.

You have a good eye there HuffnPuff. Those six lines were for a water injection system which has temporarily been abandoned. The engine doesn't have a egt problem surprisingly.

Congratulations to Richard and the AWSOME blue Ford, HVAC you guys are making horrendous HP. Keep up the good work.

Bruce

HVAC i think you need to change your name to "dieselfreak" i know it is already taken but you have earned it :) keep up the good work. holy cow 11. 99 crew cab 4x4 FORD. yea i spelled it right FORD it is spelled that way only when it has a cummins in it. ;)

Dieselfreak

Catcracker, DF is Cliff's handle from Oregon as you know.

But I would agree with your comment. I became a diesel freak back in "99 and I'm STILL freakin'!:D
